College Decider’s database covers 1,900+ U.S. colleges and universities. Each record draws on federal IPEDS and College Scorecard-style reporting: admission rate, SAT and ACT score bands, average net price after grant aid, median earnings, and completion and retention rates. We use those published facts to power college search, comparisons, and Reach / Target / Safety planning — not to rank or rate schools.
The catalog is the engine behind every College Decider tool. Pick a starting point below — each one reads from the same school records.
Head-to-head pages that apply the same database to two schools at once.
What the catalog holds and how to use it
Our 1,900+-school catalog is built on federal IPEDS and College Scorecard-style reporting: admission rate, control (public or private), state, SAT and ACT score bands, average net price after grant aid, median earnings, and completion and retention rates. We use those published facts for matching and comparison — not to rank schools.
No. College Decider does not publish a separate profile page for each school. The database powers search results, side-by-side comparisons, and planning tools; you browse and compare schools inside those tools rather than on individual college pages.
Start with the free college search, which uses your GPA (and optional SAT/ACT, major, budget, and location) to sort schools into Reach, Target, and Safety. The college finder by GPA is a lighter, GPA-first entry point to the same catalog.
Yes. The compare tool lets you stack any two schools on cost, admissions, and outcomes, and our curated head-to-head pages cover common matchups in more depth.
Free search returns up to three full matches — one each in Reach, Target, and Safety — plus a preview of more. A short Premium trial unlocks all 21 personalized matches (up to 7 per category).
