Pick a field to see which colleges award the most degrees in it, ranked by median earnings 10 years after entry. Every list is built from federal IPEDS and College Scorecard data across 1,900+ U.S. colleges — the same catalog that powers our search and comparison tools.
Each page lists the colleges where the field is a meaningful share of all degrees awarded, plus what to compare before you apply. Counts show how many colleges currently qualify.
The percentage of all degrees a college awards in that field. It measures size, not quality — a large share usually means more sections, faculty, and course choice.
Reported for the whole institution 10 years after entry, not for a specific major. Use it to shortlist schools, then compare the actual program and its outcomes.
What these lists measure and how to use them
Each list uses federal IPEDS and College Scorecard data. A college qualifies when the field makes up a meaningful share of the degrees it awards, and qualifying colleges are ordered by median earnings 10 years after entry. Program size comes from the same federal program-mix data used across College Decider.
Federal program data reports broad program families, so mechanical, electrical, civil, and chemical engineering are reported together. Splitting them into separate pages would invent precision the underlying data does not have. Each college profile shows the full program mix instead.
It tells you which colleges are worth a closer look. Median earnings are institutional, not specific to a major, and they do not measure teaching quality. Use the list to shortlist schools, then compare curriculum, accreditation, class size, and cost for the program you actually want.
Yes. The free college search takes your GPA, intended major, budget, and location, then sorts schools into Reach, Target, and Safety matches. The college finder by GPA is a faster GPA-first entry point into the same catalog.
